International Atelier “Ismet Mujezinović” Tuzla

The Ismet Mujezinović Atelier is located in the heart of Tuzla, on Klosterska Street, as part of the cultural complex of the Centre for Culture Tuzla. The space occupies the former family home and working studio of renowned Bosnian-Herzegovinian painter Ismet Mujezinović, who lived and created his artworks here until his death in 1984. Today, the atelier is one of Tuzla’s most important cultural and artistic venues. It hosts exhibitions, concerts, book promotions, workshops, and international art programs. Its unique value lies in its authentic atmosphere—a combination of a modern gallery space and a preserved artist’s studio featuring Mujezinović’s personal belongings, photographs, and original works of art. The building was constructed in 1967. After the Mujezinović family donated the house to the city, it was transformed into an international atelier and a meeting place for artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina and across Europe. Surrounded by greenery in the city center, the atelier’s garden frequently serves as a venue for summer cultural events, open-air exhibitions, and artistic gatherings, making it a vibrant cultural landmark of Tuzla.
